MissouriHauntedHouses.com recently sat down with Gerald Gess of The Werehouse, to discuss what's new at The Werehouse for the 2024 Halloween Season!
What's new at The Werehouse for 2024? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?
This is our second year and have totally redone the majority of the haunt on top of expanding. We are now almost double the size we were last year. Lots of animatronics and actors, nice combination!
What are you most excited about for the 2024 Halloween Season?
Feedback for improvement and learning tricks of the trade.
What differentiates The Werehouse from other local haunts in Missouri?
Locally it would be the animatronics. They are great to use as a distraction for the actors to step in.
How long has The Werehouse been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about The Werehouse's history?
This is our second year. Our first year we built it in just 2 and a half months.
What's your favorite experience since opening The Werehouse?
Seeing the excitement it brings people.
How long is a typical haunt experience at The Werehouse from start to finish?
25-30 minutes
On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say The Werehouse is? Why?
I believe it is about an 8 just by the feedback we have received.
Does The Werehouse's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?
No.
What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?
I have always wanted one, since I was a child. Building everything (customizing) is my favorite part, I like putting my own twist on things.
How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance The Werehouse?
The animatronics are a great feature...not just visually but it helps with the scare factor for the actors.
Can The Werehouse accommodate large groups? How many people can experience The Werehouse together as a group?
Yes we can accommodate large groups. We like to keep groups to be around 6-7 people.
Does The Werehouse offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?
Firefighter's, Police Officers, EMS, and Military get in free. Groups of 20 or more get $2 off a ticket when paying all together. We have also given the Boys and Girls club 50% off.
